The Challenge
Artisan have maintained the shopping centres life safety fire alarm and voice alarm system over some years, during which it was becoming evident that the existing 20 year old fire alarm system was now obsolete, failing and becoming ever more difficult and expensive to repair. The system had to be replaced. The upgrade and improvements had to be delivered whilst maintaining the shopping centres normal operations and without any disruption or compromising the safety to the tenants and public.
The Solution
Artisan had demonstrated confidence to the client with its status as Honeywell systems integrator along with a catalogue of similar large scale past projects. This was testimony enough to the client that the system upgrade could be designed, delivered and commissioned whilst still maintaining life safety protection as a priority during the project. Artisans remit included the full fire alarm upgrade including detection and evacuation along with a review of the existing fire alarm operational strategy. The inclusion of a daily project management team ensured that upgrade program rollout was smooth and trouble free. The building now has life safety technologies being both flexible, easy to manage and commensurate with the quality and profile of the shopping centre.
